What's the difference between PDO and COG threads?
PDO thread lifting is the most dramatic treatment option for PDO threads but is also the most difficult and managing patient expectations is critical. Lifting threads have barbs, also known as cogs along the length of the thread with the aim of affixing the skin in a position to give the appearance of a minor facelift.
It almost sounds too good to be true, but an easy, minimally invasive treatment now makes it possible to lift and tighten skin, achieving results similar to a surgical facelift. A PDO Thread Lift leaves the face firmer, tighter, and more youthful in appearance, and it offers results that can last 18 months or more.
How Often Should You Have Treatment? The results of this treatment can last for six to 12 months at a time, so how long the results of your treatment lasts will determine how often you should have treatment. Many patients opt to have regularly scheduled PDO thread lifts once or twice a year.
Patients may instantly notice PDO thread lift before and after results following their procedure, but complete results and improvements to skin firmness, volume, and rejuvenation can be seen approximately 3–4 weeks post-procedure.
One of the best things about this treatment is it only takes 15 to 30 minutes. After that, you’re free to go back to work or whatever else you had scheduled for the rest of your day.
